FAQ
Common questions
Are these UK invoice templates really free?
Yes. Every invoice template on InvoicePad UK is free to use, with no sign-up, no card and no watermark. You can create and download as many PDF invoices as you like.
Do I need an account to download an invoice?
No. The tools run entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, and your details are only saved as a local draft on your own device.
What must a UK invoice include?
Your name and any trading name, your address, a unique sequential invoice number, the invoice date and due date, the client's name and address, an itemised description of the work, the total owed and your payment details. VAT is only shown if you are VAT-registered.
Can I use these templates if I am not a limited company?
Yes. Sole traders, freelancers and the self-employed can all invoice under their own name without forming a company.
Is the invoice legally valid in the UK?
The templates follow HMRC's standard invoicing fields for most sole traders and freelancers. This is general guidance, not tax or legal advice — check your own circumstances if you are unsure.
